Where are we?
Home Sweet Home is situated in Excideuil in the Northern Dordogne area of the Perigord Vert about 25km from the border with the Haut Vienne, part of the Limousin,and the birthplace of Limoges Porcelain.Many of the potteries are open to the public and in St Yrieix la Perche(The first sizeable town over the border)there are a selection of shops specialising in ceramics.
We are 36kms from the regions administrative centre at Perigueux,a Romano-Gallic town on the old pilgrims trail to Santiago de Compestela in Spain,in the Old Town many of the streets are paved with cobbles and you can see Brass Scallop Shells inset into them denoting the route taken by the pilgrims.
Excideuil is ideally situated between four airports:
